McCain is speaking on MSNBC right now. I'm sorry but this is frightening. He gives speeches like a 4th grade play. It's kind of endearing but terribly boring.
The bad part is that everytime he makes a jab at Obama then pauses and waits for cheers (in front of the crowd of a hundred) he snickers like a pervert.
Now that Obama has tied him successfully to Bush, he's on the defense and it does not wear well.
Mcain makes me sad. He was very plastic in his praise of Clinton and Obama...especially Clinton when he patronizingly tried to tie himself to her as his "friend".
Thoughts on McCain's speech?
My thoughts about McCain's candidacy: No More Years! Bye Repugs.
Sorry about the brevity, I thought it might be nice to open the floor for a discussion about the speech.
a few things.
1. Obama has the delegates.(He will get the nomination.)
2. Obama has 2.5 million donors. With that many people who are also able to share wealth with the DNC, he's got a lot of clout. (He will get the nomination.)
3. Many of Hillary's supporters will return to being Republicans Nov. 4th, 2008. (even if she were the nominee) However, we know Obama will get the nomination.
Hillary,
That is reality. Go to the convention, argue a false point (and it really is. It saddens me that many of your supporters don't have the resources to discover the truth) and lose the election for your party. Then explain to your female supporters why the Supreme Court cancels their right to choose. Also explain why they are continuing to lose sons and daughters in the war and why gas prices simply won't go down.
(copied from my Kos entry)
The Republicans are enjoying are little tiffs over who is and isn't going to be the nominee but here's my proposal.
We've got a common enemy and it isn't between Hillary fans and Obama fans.
We're Democrats and here's the enemy
Republican Lies (as reported by ABC bloggers). It is time to start fighting against this.
In an interview with The Atlantic's Jeffrey Goldberg, Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill., talked a great deal about Israel. He was rather effusive in his support for the Jewish state.Apparently given nothing of substance to criticize, House Republican leaders then took a statement Obama made and twisted it to act as if the Democrat had insulted the Jewish state. Which he had not.
So MyDD I challenge you just as Democrats to put this mess to rest with Hillary and Barack. Barack is likely the nominee and we need a Democratic president. Let's move on to accomplish the very real goal of defeating Republican John McCain. We do not want him to be President because we were too silly and focused on trivialities.
